Steel flat products in Germany

In 2005 Schmolz+Bickenbach KG decided to focus their product portfolio on long products and high-grade steels. Consequently the flat products division, Schmolz & Bickenbach Flachstahl GmbH, and the Steel Service Center, Otto-Knauf GmbH (OKS) were sold to Stemcor. Stemcor Deutschland bought 100% of the shares in both companies with effect from 31 December 2006 and, on 1 July 2009,  the transition became complete when the trading name Schmolz & Bickenbach Flachstahl GmbH was changed to Stemcor Flachstahl GmbH.

Stemcor Flachstahl offers a wide range of flat carbon products, from heavy plate to pre-painted products, cut pieces and heavy sections. The company is based in Dusseldorf and holds stock in Duisburg, Stuttgart and Chemnitz.
