Martin Joyce joins Barclay & Mathieson from ASD

07 January 2011

Martin Joyce, formerly CEO of UK stockholding group ASD Metal Services, has joined Barclay & Mathieson (B+M) as a Director. Martin will be based in Leeds and will work closely with Nick Watson, Managing Director, in developing and expanding Barclay & Mathieson’s nationwide stockholding network. Martin brings a wealth of experience in the UK stockholding market, having spent the past 21 years at ASD, which is currently owned by Klockner. He joined ASD as an accountant in 1989 (when the company was owned by Stemcor) and was appointed to the Board as Finance Director in 1993. He became CEO in 2002. Martin was a member of the Klockner & Co Group Executive Committee and oversaw the implementation of SAP within ASD.

B+M (acquired by Stemcor in March 2008) is a general steel stockholder in the UK with twelve depots across Scotland, North West and the Midlands. B+M’s extensive stock satisfies a wide range of customer requirements, with same-or-next day delivery. A well established inter-branch transfer system ensures that each site has access to all stock. Through associate company Clydeside Steel Fabrications Limited, B+M offers a wide range of processing services, general fabrication work and structural steelwork.
